GSC Summer Picnic

The GSC is hosting a visit and picnic on Saturday, June 22 to the Connecticut Museum of Mining and Mineral Science on the shady grounds of the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association in Kent.


This excellent museum includes many displays of outstanding Connecticut mineral specimens organized by their formation and geologic environment. As well, the museum exhibits Connecticut mining artifacts, dioramas and displays, and includes a new Hall of Connecticut Geology/Paleontology, and a gift shop with a selection of Connecticut minerals. Long-time curator and Connecticut mineral guru Jack Pawloski will be on hand for tours.

COST includes grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, corn, salads, desserts and soft drinks and donation to the museum

TO FIND THE PICNIC PAVILION: After entering the park, continue on the road as it bends to the north and ends in a loop with parking. The picnic pavilion is just to the west of the loop.
